We've ALL heard the phrase "You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please ALL of the people ALL of the time". 

Well, this can't ring anymore true than in the Photo/Video world. Don't be the guy/gal that just willy nilly accepts creative jobs and doesn't have your clients sign important documents to protect yourself. 

Sometimes things happen, and when they do, you need to be PREPARED.

Model Release Form

This is a legal release typically signed by the subject of a photograph granting permission to publish the photograph in one form or another.

Liability Waiver

A liability waiver is a legal document that a person who participates in an activity may sign to acknowledge the risks involved in their participation. By doing so, the company attempts to remove legal liability from the business or person responsible for the activity.

Cease and Desist Letter

A Cease and Desist letter for photography or videography is a letter sent either to an individual or to a business to stop illegal activities such as the unauthorized use of your photos, videos, or the like. The ’cease’ part is supposed to stop the unlawful practice while the ’desist‘ is meant to make sure it does not happen again. The latter is strong and implies legal consequences.

NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement)

It is a contract through which the parties agree not to disclose information covered by the agreement. An NDA creates a confidential relationship between the parties, typically to protect any type of confidential and proprietary information or trade secrets.
